Dynamic Landing Page Extension v 1.0.0.0 |
|
Wednesday, 27 February 2008 |
About The Dynamic landing page extension allows you to define different content to display depending on the visitors search terms. You can define any number of keyword matches, default match content, and provides WYSIWYG editing of content. Works with matches from Google, Yahoo, MSN, Ask, AOL, Digg and others that have the same query format. Compatable with Joomla! 1.0.x and Joomla 1.5.
DemoThe front page of this site uses the Dynamic Landing Page extension. To see it in action, Google "joomla home site:neonascent.com" , and follow the "neonascent.com - Home" entry. The front page will guess that you are looking for Joomla extensions. Now click on the "Home" link in the menu bar, and the same page will load, but this time with the default content. Download / Installation
- Download the com_dynamiclandpage.zip file
- Install it from your Joomla Admin Installation section
- Download mod_dynamiclandpage.zip file.
- Install it from your Joomla Admin Installation section
- That's it!
Joomla 1.0.x files:com_dynamiclandpage (.zip, 5kb) mod_dynamiclandpage (.zip, 3kb) Joomla 1.5 files:com_dynamiclandpage-j15-v1 (.zip, 18kb) mod_dynamiclandpage-j15-v1 (.zip, 3kb)
Usage - Click on the "Dynamic Landing Page" item that has been aded to your components menu
- Add new entries by clicking the "New" option.
- Enter the keywords you wish to match for this content. "Keywords" is a comma seperated list of keywords to match to, for example "cheap, cars, second, hand". You can match phrases too: "fast cars, cheap cars, dealers". Leaving the keyword entry blank sets it as the default content output (this matches if none of the other keyword entries has been matched, or if there are no keywords)
- Once you have added all dynamic content choices, and made sure they are published,go to the module section, and select "Dynamic Landing Page"
- modify its display settings and location, and publish it. The module works best set to Home, as this is where most searches will land.
Usage Note: Only one entry will be displayed, even if you have multiple matches. Dynamic Landing Page can only work if the keywords you are matching are indexed in search engines. It is helpful to use a tool such as Google Analytics to discover what search terms are being used, and then creating landing pages to deal with them.
